Bengaluru: FKCCI welcomes reduction of APMC cess

Bengaluru, Jul 26: The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) has welcomed the state government’s decision to reduce APMC market cess to 0.35%. FKCCI president C R Janardhana has in a press release said, the decision of considering the long-time demand of APMC merchants for reducing the market cess to 0.35% on notified Agri products.

The decision has not only helped farmers but also the APMC merchants to sell their produce competitively and also safeguard the interests of several families who are depending on an APMC for their livelihood.

FKCCI has thanked chief minister B S Yediyurappa, cooperation minister S T Somashekar and other officers of the department having considered the demand sympathetically, the press release said.
