Bengaluru, Aug 1: The common entrance test (CET) for admission into engineering and other professional courses ended successfully on Friday evening. About 90 percent of the students who had registered for the test including 63 who were infected with coronavirus, appeared for chemistry and physics examinations.
Addressing an online press meet on this issue, higher education minister and deputy chief minister, Dr Ashwath Narayan, said that a total of 1,94,419 students had registered for the CET. 1,75,428 students forming 90.23 percent appeared for physics examination while 1,75,337 students (90.19 percent) wrote the chemistry examination, he said. He also revealed that 92.27 percent of students had appeared for the physics examination and 90.88 percent for the chemistry examination last year.
The minister said that the CET result will be published within 15 to 20 days.
