Bengaluru, Apr 15: Honorary president of KSRTC Employees Union, Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, said that the KSRTC employees stir has entered ninth day due to the non-cooperative attitude of the government. He said that between 6 and 7 pm on April 15, the KSRTC employees will undertake a unique protest by lighting the lamp.

Kodihalli said at a press conference on Wednesday that indefinite strike will continue. He said that the lighting of the lamp has been undertaken to draw the attention of the government. He said that a protest demonstration will be held Friday near the residences of the MLAs urging them to speak to the chief minister (CM) on the issue to meet the demands. Noting that the CM has been angrily reacting by listening to the bureaucracy, he asked the CM to lend an ear to the problems of KSRTC employees. He also reminded the CM that the transport employees and their members together account for over six lac votes.

"We had planned to file an en masse police complaint against the managers of bus units for not distributing salary for March, but the police are not accepting the complaints. Therefore, from Thursday onward, complaints will be sent through the registered post," he stated.

On Tuesday, some KSRTC employees and family members expressed anger against the government by undertaking begging at a few places in Bengaluru.

In addition to damage to buses, KSRTC has suffered a total loss of Rs 152 crore during the last eight days as per an estate.
