Mangalore, Aug 18: Prof Haridas Bhat (79), retired professor in the department of physics, National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Suratkal, breathed his last at his residence near Srinivasanagar, Suratkal, on Tuesday August 17.

After retiring from NITK, he had also worked as the principal of Nitte first grade college. He is survived by two sons.

    Heartfelt condolences to the family members of Prof Bhat who was the physics professor when I was a student at erstwhile KREC. He was a brilliant teacher. Condolences to Prakash who was also my classmate at the college
