Mangalore: Railway Introduces Special Trains for Ramadan Month

Mangalore, Aug 27: A release by the Southern Railway has said that it will be operating trains as below, between the city and Chennai Cetral, to cope with the additional rush of passengers during the month of Ramadan (Ramzan).

Chennai Central – Mangalore Central – Chennai Central Special: T.No.0631 Chennai Central – Mangalore Special will leave Chennai Central at 20.35 hrs. on 8.9.2010 and arrive Mangalore Central at 13.30 hrs. the next day. T.No.0632 Mangalore – Chennai Central Special will leave Mangalore Central at 17.25 hrs. on 9.9.2010 and arrive Chennai Central at 10.00 hrs. the next day.  The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod. T.No.0631 will stop at Coimbatore also. T.No.0632 will stop at Podanur and Perambur too.
 
Chennai Central – Mangalore Central – Chennai Central Special.   T.No.0631 Chennai Central – Mangalore Special will leave Chennai Central at 20.35 hrs. on 10.9.2010 and arrive Mangalore Central at 13.30 hrs. the next day. T.No.0640 Mangalore – Chennai Central Special will leave Mangalore Central at 14.15 hrs. on 12.9.2010 and arrive Chennai Central at 07.45 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and        2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod. T.No.0640 will stop at Podanur and Perambur also.
 
Through the release, the railway has also informed that advance reservation for these trains has begun on Friday August 27.

    What about Mangalore-Bangalore? Or does the Railways think that there are no Muslims along the towns covered by the Mangalore-Bangalore train?

    People should protest this kind of Kerala or Tamil Nadu centric attitudes of Railways.
