Mangalore: Rains Relent – People Heave Sigh of Relief

Mangalore, Aug 28: The rainfall in the coast was remarkably less in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district. The people got time in between, to venture out and attend to their pending tasks, when the rains relented.

Heavy rains were reported from Bantwal, Beltangady etc., in the afternoon, but sunshine returned in the evening. Normal rains were experienced in Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala taluks.

While the coastal districts received rains between four to six cms, Bijapur district recorded heavy rains up to eight cms. The meteorological department has predicted light to normal rains during the next two days.

The flights operating from the local airport stuck to their schedules, except that there was a slight delay in respect of the departure of flights to Dubai and Bahrain.
