Mangalore, Aug 30: As the rainfall has been dwindling since the last two days, the fishermen have heaved a sigh of relief.

Although the entire coast was enveloped in clouds, heavy rain was witnessed only in Subrahmanya and Kollur on Sunday August 29 morning. Otherwise, the rainfall was scattered and scant. Kollur recorded eight cms of rain.

The rainfall in Dharmasthala and Puttur stood at four cms each, while in all other places it was less than two cms on an average. Lot of auspicious functions including marriages, which had been lined up on Sunday, were organized without any problems, as rain god showered mercy on the people.
