Mangalore: Chengappa Re-elected Bar Association President

Mangalore, Aug 30: Outgoing president of Mangalore Bar Association, S P Chengappa, was re-elected to the post for the year 2010-11.

The Bar Association’s elections were held on Saturday August 28. He defeated K Monappa Bhandary, former president of the association and former district BJP president, by getting 419 votes against Bhandary’s 309.

Narasimha Hegde was elected the vice-president, while K Ganesh Shenoy was chosen as the secretary. Sridevi got elected as the joint secretary of the association, with Vittal Pai bagging the post of the treasurer.
