Moodbidri: Dr Na Mogasale’s ‘Nudihara–2’, ‘Kamaneya Bedagu’ Released

Moodbidri, Sep 1:
“Litterateurs are expected to express their concern on social issues in the media.  It would alert the government to the issues. Litterateurs are not taking interest in expressing their thoughts except for a few articles on non-political issues in the media”, said Shivasubramanya Kalmadka, editor, Kannada Prabha, Kannada daily.
 
Kalmadka was speaking after releasing veteran Kannada litterateur Dr Na Mogasale’s painting of a man holding a stick and walking in the sun, during a function held on the premises of Kantavara Kannada Sangh, recently.
 
He said that Bangalore and Mangalore were emerging as favorites of litterateurs to publish their literary works.
 
Kalmadka also recited a few poems about the streets of Varanasi and rain by Dr Mogasale.
 
Freedom fighter H D Gundappa, after releasing ‘Nudihara–2’, a compilation of Kannada Sangh monthly speeches, said, “The need of the hour is to have education that is inclusive of knowledge.  Dr Mogasale has been supporting the cause of literature during his lifetime.  His yeomen service to Kannada is indeed remarkable.”
 
Balasaheb Lokapure released Dr Na Mogasale’s poetry ’Kamaneya Bedagu’ during the same programme.  
 
He said that Kamaneya Bedagu has significant poems that inspire repeat reading.  “There are a few poems that are innovative in Kannada literature.  Dr Mogasale’s Kannada novel ‘Ullangane’, based on Guttu lineage family’s journey from contemporary times in Dakshina Kannada district, has an intrinsic value of cultural importance,” added Lokapure.
 
Yashodar P Karkera, president,Allama Peeta Kantavara, in his presidential address said, “We need literature that can touch the hearts of people and inspire them to change their evil ways”.
 
Dr Mogasale said that it’s difficult for him to pursue literary works and he would like to spend the rest of his life in the cause of Allama Prabhu Peeta.
 
C K Padival, sponsor,Karnataka Sangh monthly programme, was present on the dais.
 
Nitte Manjunath Shetty welcomed the gathering.  Vittal Belady compered the programme.
