Mangalore: Rendition -10 at St Joseph's Engineering College

Mangalore, Oct 9: 'Rendition 10’, a national level paper presentation contest organized by Genesis, a forum of MBA students of St Joseph Engineering College was inaugurated her recently.

Chief guest of the programme Dr Uday Kumar, Associate Professor and Co-ordinator, MBA(IB) Programme, University College, Mangalore, the Guests of Honour – Principal in-charge, Prof A J Hegde, Fr Joseph Lobo, Director Designate, Fr Henry Mascarenhas, Assistant Director, the President, Fr Valerian D’Souza, Director, Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean, MBA, Ms Smita Jesudasan, Faculty Co-ordinator and Arrel Moras, Student Co-ordinator were present on the dais during the inauguration.
 
Dr Uday Kumar, the chief guest, associate professor and co-ordinator, MBA (IB) programme, University College in his inaugural address emphasized the need to adopt ‘Question the Answer approach’ rather than ‘Answer the Question approach’. He further added that the budding managers should be aware of the objective of their existence and tasks. He remarked that in the present era of dynamism and change, the problem should be viewed as an opportunity and the students should be adept at meeting the inflicted challenges.


 

Prof A J Hegde, principal in-charge and Dean (Academics) in his guest of honour address reinforced the views of Dr Uday Kumar, Chief guest and said that the paper presentation contest should enhance the knowledge of the MBA students.

Fr Joseph Lobo, director designate in his guest of honour address stated that the MBA students should inspire and excel in every walk of life. He encouraged the students to focus on participation and improvise on their skills rather than competing amongst themselves.

In the presidential address, Fr Valerian D’Souza, Director, SJEC pronounced that the key to success should be originality in ideas and action rather than imitation. He hoped that Rendition would create value addition.

The SJEC MBA student choir invoked God’s blessings and graces. Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean – MBA welcomed the august gathering. Shivraj, a student of the third semester, MBA Programme portrayed a video highlighting the contribution of India to the global economy and showcased the various activities undertaken by the Department of Business Administration, SJEC. Ivan Mendonca and Jean Lobo, students of third semester, MBA Programme compeered the Inaugural Session. Arrel Moras, Rendition Student Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.

About 40 MBA and M Com students from various B-schools at the National level are presenting papers in the fields of Marketing, Finance and Human Resource.
