Mangalore, Oct 10:  Arehole Sadashiva Rao’s tenth work – ‘Pradakshine’ was released at a programme held to mark the decennial year of Kallacchu Publications at St Aloysius College auditorium here on Sunday Oct 10.

Interestingly the programme was held at 10am, 10 minutes, 10 seconds (10:10:10).

Well-known columnist Theertharama Valalambe released the book. In his address, Valalambe lauded Sadashiva Rao for his genial writings.

Narayani Damodar was the guest of honour. She said that readers should buy books which reflect pious thoughts. She lamented that the reading is turning to be a spoon feeding trend where books on some irrelevant and inane issues are published and very less model litterateur are seen in the present age band in comparison with earlier days. She also called upon youths to develop the practice of writing.

Author of the book Arehole Sadashiva Rao was felicitated on the occasion.

Later a special talk on Kota Shivarama Karanth’s literature and cultural interests’ was held to mark his birth anniversary.

S Janardhan, senior journalist, presided over the programme. N T Raja, president, Sitalaxmi Karkikody, Lions Club, M B Sadashiva, scholar, K C Prabhu, social worker and Geetha Nayak among others were present. Litterateur Mahesh R Nayak welcomed the gathering.
