Mangalore, Oct 12:
With the objective of creating awareness on road sense among the citizens, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) organized a session on the topic ‘Traffic Congestion in the Heart of Mangalore City and Traffic Management’ at the meeting hall of KCCI here on Tuesday Oct 12.

Praveenchandra Shetty, member of KCCI suggested certain solutions to make the roads user-friendly.

In his address he revealed his findings on issues like road safety, traffic islands, U-turns and parking among others. He also urged the department concerned to make available to the traffic police some pleasant amenities such as roof, fan and air conditioner.

He suggested that additional parking slots within the available space in the city could be converted to ease parking woes. He perceived that there is not much modification required to adopt road safety measures in terms of reducing traffic casualties.

Mohandas Prabhu, president, KCCI, B Chandrakantha Rao, honorary treasurer, KCCI and Latha R Kini, vice-president among others were present.
