Mangalore: Management Club Inaugurated at AIMIT

Mangalore, Oct 15: The Management Club of AIMIT, St Aloysius College (autonomous), was inaugurated on Thursday October 14. The inaugural started off with a prayer led by the college choir, followed by a formal welcome address by Dr Beena Dias, faculty co-ordinator of the Management Club.


The chief guest for the function was Arun Raveendran, an alumnus of St Aloysius College. He completed his BBM and MBA in finance from St Aloysius College, and worked for HDFC Bank as the relationship manager in the business banking department for a period of eight months and he is working till date with HSBC as the relationship manager, taking care of corporate banking products. He is also an entrepreneur from the second batch of AIBA. He along with five of his friends started the IT Company, Foradians two years back.

Addressing the students Arun said that MBA is all about the “Survival Of the Fittest” and that every student should grab the opportunities that come knocking on his/her door.

 Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, director, AIMIT briefed about entrepreneurship and asked the students to do whatever activity they are involved in to the best of their capacity and quoting the Latin dictum, ‘non multa sed multum’, he said that it is not necessary to a lot of things, but concentrate on whatever they do. He also wished that many Aloysians become entrepreneurs. He shared a truly inspiring quote that ‘A mind is a Fire to be kindled, not a vessel to be filled’.

Dr Ozwald Mascarenhas, chairman, MBA department then spoke and kept the audience captured with his creative and innovative ideas and concepts. He said that success of the activities could be made certain by bringing 30 percent of new and innovative ideas in every activity the club would conduct year by year.

The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Management club assistant secretary Ansen Biju.  Aniket compered the programme.
