Mangalore: Woman Falls Off from Bus, Dies

Mangalore, Nov 2: Seetamma (60) from Madikeri, died after falling to the road from a moving KSRTC bus near Pumpwell Circle in the city on Sunday October 31.

Seetamma, who boarded the bus at Madikeri, wanted to visit her daughter living in Deralakatte. She had reportedly told the bus conductor that she wants to alight at Pumpwell Circle. The bus, which reached Pumpwell Circle at around 2.30 pm, moved ahead without stopping.

Seetamma, who had stood up to get down, fell down when the bus drove past a hump at high speed. She suffered grievous injuries to her head, and was rushed to a hospital. She however, breathed her last before being admitted there, the policemen said.

    It should be clear and mandatory that the buses should only stop at pre-determined stops.. its is quite common that the commuters request to be ped in non-stop locations.. I am not blaming the dead person, but if this rule, and strict policy against drivers are taken, mangalore will be a better place to live.

    Guess, its high time that the authorities should wake up and whip these reckless drivers. They hardly care about others lives.
