Bantwal: Karmapath Trust Becomes Catalyst to Usher in Computer Literacy in Sajipamuda

Bantwal, Nov 3: The students of the Nagri Government Aided School ushered the festival of lights with the initiation of Computer education in the nondescript village of Sajipamuda, about 40 kms from Mangalore.

On Nov 1 2010, the day of Kannada Rajyotsava, in a small function at the Nagri Government Aided School, the members of Karmapath Trust donated two computer systems and appointed a computer science teacher marking the commencement of computer education in the village. Karmapath Trust has volunteered to maintain the computers and fund the computer scince teachers salary now onwards.

Further, as a part of its campaign of " Bringing Technology to Rural India ", Karmapath Trust will be providing computer science textbooks and educational CDs. These CDs will aim to cover a wide range of topics including interactive stories, learning activities for all round development of the students.

The facility will also be extended to the Noojibail Government School, where Karamapath had setup computer education along similar lines on August 15. With these two schools, Karmapath has now reached out to 540 students in the state and 1,100 students across the country.
 
Recently, Karmapath Trust has been accorded approval under section 80G income tax act. This enables all our donors to claim tax exemption for the financial support they are providing to the trust.
