Kasargod, Jan 25: Relating to the murder of Chandrahas Poojary from Perla Kannur Kamanabayalu, who was killed with lethal weapons by a gang while proceeding to Kumble in his jeep on Friday evening, one of the accused has been nabbed by the policemen. The accused has been identified as Krishna, a rickshaw driver operating in Kumble. He happens to be a relative of the deceased.
Reportedly, Krishna had drawn up a plan to eliminate Chandras, relating to a property dispute, long ago. He had contacted two people with criminal antecedents, one of whom was involved with the killing of a BMS leader about a year back. On Friday, Krishna, along with these two persons, reached a deserted place and hid himself. When Chandrahas came in his jeep, they suddenly intercepted him and hit him with sharp weapons. Krishna reportedly told the policemen, that thereafter, he went to some pilgrim centres in Dakshina Kannada districts.
The other two persons involved with this crime have gone underground. The policemen have confiscated the auto rickshaw owned by Krishna. Kumble policemen have now launched a manhunt for Shiva and Sunil, the two others involved with this murder.
On being produced in a court here by the policemen on Monday, Krishna was remanded to judicial custody.
