Mangalore: Guest Lecturers’ Salary to be Hiked from Apr 1

 Jan 30: The guest lecturers’ salary will be increased to Rs 10,000 a month from April 1 as per the decision taken by the state government said Higher Education Minister V S Acharya on Saturday January 29.

Speaking to media persons after participating in the tri-monthly Karnataka development programme meeting, Dr Acharya said the guests lecturers who used to be paid Rs 5000 per month will get the double salary from April 1 and added Chief Minister has already sanctioned a grant of Rs 75 crore for the annual salary expenditure of the guest lecturers.

It can be noted that guest lecturers across the state were on strike demanding for making them permanent staffs for the past six days.
