Mangalore, Feb 2: Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president, has informed that nine personalities from the district will be felicitated at the 77th Akhila Bharat Kannada Sahitya Samelan to be held in Bangalore from February 4 to 6.
Kannada scholars from the district, Bandagadde Nagaraj, Kaje Eshwar Bhat, Prof A V Navada, Dr Padekallu Vishnu Bhat, G N Upadhya, Manjunath Mangalore, literary organizer, Shivaram Kasargod, pro-Kannada activist, B Purushottam, and writers, Lakshmi Kunjattur will be honoured at the Sammelan, he said.
The felicitations will be extended by former Prime Minister of the country, H D Deve Gowda, at a function to be held at 11.30 am on February 6 at the Sammelan venue. State president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Dr Nallur Prasad will preside, and Dr D Veerendra Heggade will be present at the dais, he stated.
