Mangalore: Palemar Confident of Early Solution to Gregory Patrao Imbroglio

Mangalore, Feb 15: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, exuded confidence of finding an amicable solution to the imbroglio relating to the acquisition of land belonging to Gregory Patrao in Kalavar village, by  Karnataka Industrial Area Development  Board for MRPL expansion project.

The minister was speaking to reporters after participating in a meeting held in the Circuit House here, on Monday February 14. Officials of Mangalore Special Economic Zone and the district administration, apart from Patrao, were present at the meeting.

Palemar revealed that Gregory has put forth demands like providing of employment to his family members, sanctioning of alternative land in Kalavar village, and additional compensation for the land, and that these issues were discussed at the meeting.

Palemar said that Gregory’s demand for employment to his family members has been considered favourably. He also added that as permissible under the relevant rules, 31 cents of land would be provided to Patrao in Kalavar village. “Another meeting will be held again within two days. In all probability, we will reach a final understanding then,” he stated.
