Bantwal: Congress to hold procession to recollect freedom struggle on Aug 23

Bantwal, Aug 20: “Congress party has planned a procession by foot at Bantwal on August 23 to recollect the freedom struggle on the eve of India’s Independence Day,” said former minister B Ramanath Rai. He was speaking in a news conference held in the Congress party office here on August 20.

“The procession will begin from Manihalla junction at 9 am. It will proceed to Melkar via the highway. There will be a rest at Aladka in the afternoon. It will resume after lunch and proceed via Panemangalore market to B C Road circle and will conclude at Kaikamba,” he said.

“There will be patriotic music, holding the national flag to revive the memories of the freedom struggle,” he said.

“Bantwal Congress condemns the insult to Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi during celebrations of Independence Day at B C Road,” he said.

Bantwal block congress president Baby Kunder, Panemangalore block Congress president Sudeep Shetty, Sudarshan Jain, Padmashekar Jain, Abbas Ali, Sadashiva Bangera, Venkappa Poojary, Janardhan Chendthimar, Nawaz Benjanapadav and Sudhaker Shenoy were present.
