Mangaluru: Students from govt school win prizes in skating competitions

Mangaluru, Aug 28: As many as eight students of a government school undergoing training in skating under the Polali Shri Ramakrishna Thapovan have been selected for the state-level skating competition.

The competition was organised by the Department of Public Instruction here on Sunday, August 28.

The students of Kallige Higher Primary School Hamsika and Geetesh secured the second prize. Polali Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath Government Higher Primary School student Amruth S has secured the first prize in in-line skating.
 














 
Under different categories, students of the same school, Sandeep and Manjunath secured first place. Sathvik, Sharanya and Sanju secured second place. Martial arts trainer Rajesh Bhramarakotlu trained the boys.

NITK student Venilla Manikanta had trained girls. Polali school Physical Education Teacher Jayananda and other teachers supported the students.

The students also participated in mini Olympic judo.

Under the guidance of Vivek Chaitanyananda students are practicing Karate, Judo, and other martial arts.
