Doha, Apr 23: A 23-year-old, youth hailing from Solpada village of Bahranpur, Murshidabad district of West Bengal came to Qatar in December 2018 to work for a cleaning company and working as a helper.
As per the Qatar rule, each and every employee willing to work in Qatar must pass through a medical examination conducted by the Ministry of Health and it is the responsibility of employer to get it done for his employees before putting them on work.
In Minharul Hoque's case, the medical examination was not done prior to his appointment.
Later, he failed in medical examination as he had some problem in his X-ray. Medical Officer who had examined Minharul Hoque advised him to take treatment in the hospital and to come back for re-examination.
But the employer did not allow him to go for treatment instead, trying to send him back home. As Minharul took loan to get the work visa, he was very much upset to hear that he had to go back.
Fortunately, he met Abdul Azeem of Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) in Wakrah Mosque and told about his problems. Azeem contacted the QISF central committee secretary, Abdul Lathif Madakeri and asked him to help Minharul Hoque.
Abdul Lathif along with QISF team members Imtiyaz Karnad, Mohsin Mangalore and Zubair Manjeshwar met Minharul Hoque, collected all the information, contacted the public relation officer of the cleaning company and explained him about the debts and problems of Minharul and requested PRO not to send him back.
Initially, PRO was not agreed. QISF team explained him about the humanitarian works of QISF and assured him that the medical expenditure and other expenses for Minharul Hoque should be beared by QISF.
Finally, the PRO agreed. Under the supervision of QISF, a free medical treatment has been given in Rumailah hospital to Minharul Hoque. After the treatment, he had undergone medical examination again and found medically fit for work.
After succeeding in medical examination, QISF team handed over Minharul Hoque to his employer and the employer allowed him to continue his work as per the company rules.
Minharul Hoque and his family members conveyed their heartfelt thanks to Lathif Madakeri and the entire QISF team.
