Dubai, February 20: The annual primary concert of Our Own Indian School Tap Talent Treat -10 got off to a great start with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthems.
Tap Talent Treat was started a decade ago with the purpose of unearthing latent skills in young children. Today, the scintillating performances by the primary students proved that the search was well worth. The occasion was graced by Ralph Tabberer, chief schools officer, GEMS MENASA and Bikram Vohra, editorial advisor Khaleej Times.
Amol Rao, head KG-Primary welcomed the audience. As many as 1,200 children of the primary section went up the stage and performed. It was time for some magic. The choir of Grade 4 regaled the audience with the foot tapping Carribbean Calypso.
After a treat for the ears came a feast for the eyes. Dances from Persia and Philippines mesmerized the audience with a riot of colours with a truly a professional performance.
The little ones of Grade 1 put together an adaptation based on the popular movie Ratatouille. The audience felt energized when the boys of Grade 4 threw light on the importance of exercise for a healthy body and a healthy mind with The Rhythm of Youth. They created magic with a display of aerobics, gymnastics and pyramid formation. Synchronized exercises were the added attractions.
The students of Grade2 brought an entirely new dimension to the story of the selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde with their portrayal of the Giant and his garden. It was time for a few more dances from Uyghur, China and of course Arabia. Life is not about flattery. The Grade3 performers made the message very clear with just the right shade of humour through the Emperor’s New Hair. The truly entertaining show came to a grand finale with a dance In Gratitude performed by the girls of Grade 4.
It was an evening of music, dance, colour and light that dazzled all.
