Udupi, Feb 25: A man killed his alcohol-addicted son following a quarrel here at Manikanta Nilaya, Moodubettu, Varanga village on Friday February 24.
The deceased is identified as Sathish Poojary (40) who was killed by his father Kutti Poojary.
Sathish Shetty, an alcohol addict, had been coming home getting drunk at nights and causing ruckus at the residence. Kutti Poojary was sleeping in the house at 9 pm on February 24. Meanwhile, Sathish, in a drunken stupor, kicked the room door where Kutty was sleeping and dragged him to the verandah of the house. Kutty, in a fit of rage hit Sathish on his hands and legs with the metal pipe used in the kitchen to burn firewood. Sathish died in the assault.
Suresh Poojary, another son of Kutty lodged a complaint in this connection at Hebri police station.
