Udupi: Pontiff of Sringeri Math pays his first visit to Kadiyali temple

Udupi, March 3: Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamiji of the Sringeri Math paid his first visit to Kadiyali temple on Friday. He obtained the darshan of the deity and blessed. He said that the holy books have stated what human beings should do and what they should not. "We should do what is written in the Vedas," he said.    

Temple management committee president Dr Katte Raviraj Acharya welcomed the pontiff. Renovation committee chief secretary K Raghavendra Kini compered the programme.

MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, municipal council member Geeta Shet, renovation committee president Nagesh Hegde, chief priest Rathnaker Upadhya, management committee members Ramesh Sherigar, Manjunath Hebbar, Sandhya Prabhu, Kishore Salian, priests and committee members took part.

The junior pontiff of the Math offered a silver lamp to the deity. He had sent a saree to decorate the deity the previous day. Hundreds of villagers made the programme successful.
