Mangaluru: Forest dept places trap to capture leopard spotted in Fajir

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A leopard was spotted at Fajir in the taluk. The forest department who was alerted, has placed a cage to catch it.

The onlookers had complained that they have seen a baby leopard at Angadikere, Gumpakallu, Ujjottu and Malar vicinity on April 13.The anxious people said that if it is a leopard, it may attack anytime.

Mahabala, the forest officer, said that there was no instance of the appearance of Leopard at Fajir. “It may be a different breed of cat. Though there are footprints at the spot, those are not clear. The cage is kept as a precaution. A dog also is tied,” said Mahabala, the forest officer.
