Kundapur, Apr 16: On Sunday, Governor of Goa, P S Sreedharan Pillai, along with his wife Reena and family, visited Sri Mookambika temple in Kollur. He offered special prayers and spoke to journalists, stating that the Shaktai Puja started by Shankaracharya is considered the best puja.

While the Shaktai Puja is also ongoing in other places such as Tirupati, he emphasized the special significance of the worship of Kollur Kshetra. He expressed his intention to invite devotees here for the next Ashtabandha Brahmakalashotsava.

Upon arriving at Kollur temple from Udupi, P S Sreedharan Pillai received a Purnakumbha welcome. He offered special prayers at the temple, lit the aarti with a ghee lamp, performed Brahmarpana, and offered prayers. He also worshiped Veerabhadraswamy in the temple's premises.

Under the leadership of Ramachandra Adiga, his grandchildren started their education and offered worship to the deity.

Later, the Governor was honored with a shawl and offered Prasada of Sridevi.

Present at the event were committee members of the temple management, including Ratna Ramesh Kunder, Sandhya Ramesh, Kollur businessman Chikkaya Mogaweera, Byndoor tahsildar Srikanth K Hegde, Byndoor town panchayat chief executive officer Naveen Kumar, Kollur village accountant Viresh, temple priest Dr K Narasimha Adiga, Byndoor Circle Inspector Santosh Kaykini, and the executive officer of the temple.
