Udupi: Retired professor S Manjunath Kalkura passes away at 94

Udupi, Apr 17: Retired professor S Manjunatha Kalkura (94) passed away at his residence near Sagri Chakratheertha on Sunday evening due to age related illness.

Prof Manjunatha served for long years as HOD of commerce department in Moodbidri Mahaveera College and MGM College in Udupi. He was a staunch supporter of national ideology and had good relations with Ashta Mathas of Udupi. He is survived by three sons including social leader S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and one daughter.

Paryaya Sree, Sri Krishnapura Palimaru Puthige Pejawara Kaniyooru Sode Adamaru Shirooru Sripada, Nagapatri Sagri Gopalakrishna Samaga Karamballi zone Brahmin committee and others expressed their condolences.

Final rites of late Prof Manjunatha Kalkoora will be held at Beedinagudde crematorium at 8 am on Monday as per the information provided by his eldest son Pradeep Kumar Kalkura.
