Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, April 17: Krishnamurthy Acharya filed his nomination from Udupi Vidhana Sabha constituency as an independent candidate on Monday, April 17. He was the Congress ticket aspirant and had lost the opportunity at the last minute.

He offered pooja at Udupi Kannarpadi Jayadurga Parameshwari Temple and proceeded in a procession by foot in the company of workers at Udupi taluk office and filed his nomination at 12 pm.

Meanwhile, Udupi Congress authorised candidate Prasad Raj Kanchan too arrived in the company of party workers. As both the candidates reached at the same time, there was an atmosphere of confusion for some time. The police, who knew the situation in advance, had made suitable security arrangements at the spot. However there were slogans for and against the candidates.
