Mangaluru, April 18: The election officer here has suspended Harekala gram panchayat development officer on allegations that he had campaigned for a political party despite being an election executive officer.

The election officer had received a complaint that Harekala gram panchayat development officer Yashwanth Belchappada had campaigned for a party.

A voice message of him seeking votes for a party and his voice clip of talk against another party and leaders was considered for taking the action against the officer.
