Byndoor, April 18: “Congress party leaders have sacrificed their lives for the nation during the terrorist attacks. BJP does not have the moral right to speak against terrorism,” said former MLA and Congress candidate K Gopala Poojary for Byndoor.

He was addressing a gathering held under the leadership of Byndoor and Vandse block Congress before filing his nomination at Byndoor.

“I have become MLA four times but I have never made false promises. I have worked for the growth of the constituency. Title deeds under 94C are not issued during the last five years. Only three Akrama Sakrama baitak were held. Fishermen are not provided sufficient Kerosene oil. Ports have not improved. Fishermen are not provided houses. I urge the voters to provide an opportunity to the Congress party for the genuine development of the constituency,” he said.

“Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the country. Who killed Udaya Ganiga of Yadamoge? Murders are taking place in the leadership of BJP grama panchayat president. Why did BJP leaders run away without facing the people in the Pravin Nettaru murder case?” he asked.

MLC Manjunath Bhandary said that BJP may use any tool during the elections. “The voters should be alert,” he said.

Congress party spokesperson Vikas Hegde, campaign committee’s Dr Subrahmanya Bhat addressed the gathering. Local congress party leaders were present. Retired ACF officer Paramayya Gonda, Subbanna Shetty Shiroor joined the Congress party during the programme.

Byndoor block Congress president Madan Kumar welcomed. Vandse block Congress president Pradeep Kumar Shetty Gudibettu rendered the vote of thanks.
