Kundapur, Apr 23: The dissension within the BJP, which broke out during the selection of candidates for the assembly elections, has continued through defections.
The addition took place under the leadership of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Party President D K Shivakumar in a convention of Congress workers convened at the JNR Hall in Byndur on Sunday.
Former Zilla Panchayat Education and Health Standing President Babu Shetty, former Zilla Panchayat member Shankar Pujari, former Taluk Panchayat member Sadashiva Paduvari Dastagir Saheb left the BJP and joined the Congress party.
On this occasion Congress candidate, former MLA K Gopal Pujari, Udupi District president Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Gauri Devadiga, M A Ghafoor, U B Shetty, Raghuram Shetty, Prakashchandra Shetty, Madan Kumar, Pradeep Kumar Shetty Gudibettu and others were present.
