Bantwal, April 24: On Monday, the last day for withdrawing nominations, SDPI candidate Majid withdrew his candidacy.

Currently, there are five candidates in the running: BJP's Rajesh Naik, Congress' B Ramanath Rai, SDPI's Ilyas Mohammed Thumbe, JDS's Prakash Gomes, and AAP's Purushotham. Anish Shetty and B T Kumar's nominations were rejected.
