Udupi, Apr 25: An astronomical phenomenon was observed by the students of Poornaprajna College on April 25. Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers’ Club organized the viewing event, where the students observed that the Shadows of various objects disappeared at 12.29 PM for about a minute before reappearing.
Dr AP Bhat, founder co-ordinator of PAAC and administrative officer of Poornaprajna Institutions Udupi, explained the astronomy behind the phenomenon to the students present.
Students of PAAC brought several objects whose shadows would disappear and also built some models that can be demonstrated only at the Zero Shadow Moment.
Dr Raghavendra A, principal, Prathibha C Acharya, head of the department of physics, Dr Vinay Kumar, IQAC coordinator along with various staff members and students of the college were present.
