Mangaluru: Speeding bike kills 65-year-old woman rag-picker

Mangaluru, Apr 27: A woman, who was walking by the side of the road was killed when a bike hit her on the early in the morning on Wednesday at Yeyyadi Konchadi in the city.

Sarita Judith Pinto (65), is the deceased. As usual Sarita, who is a rag-picker, picked scrap materials around 6 am near Shankara Bhavana hotel of Yeyyadi Konchadi and was walking towards KPT from Padavinangady road. A bike which was approaching from Padavinangady hit her.

A seriously injured Sarita was taken to hospital by locals and police. But she had breathed her last on the way.

A case in this connection is registered in Mangaluru south traffic police station.
