Udupi: Three including student drug peddlers arrested, narcotics worth lac confiscated

Udupi, Apr 27: In an operation, Manipal police confiscated 22.11 gram prohibited narcotic drug MDMA valued at Rs 2.30 lac. Three drug peddlers including a student are arrested in this connection.

Akshay Kumavat (36), a native of Maharashtra and student of a private college n Manipal, Srinivasa Gowda (31), resident of Sarjapur in Bengaluru and Isaac Shyam (29), resident of Banaswadi in Bengaluru are the arrested accused.

Accused were allegedly supplied narcotics to students of Udupi and Manipal. The police team gathered information about the drug peddlers and raided the public place in front of Janatha Towers of Eshwara Nagara in which accused Akshay was living.

Udupi DySP Dinakar KP, Inspector Devaraj of Manipal police station, PSI Naveen Naik, personnel Thomson, Abdul Razak, Salman Khan, Chennesh K, Revanasiidda and Mahabaleshwara were involved in the operation.
