Mangaluru student Saurav Salian delivers speech in Parliament on Gandhi Jayanti

Mangaluru, Oct 6: Saurav Salian made Karnataka proud by giving a speech in parliament on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.

Saurav was one of the few chosen by Nehru Yuva Kendra of Youth services and sports ministry of the union government, to speak at the parliament. He was selected after he won first prize in state and national level competition on the topic of life of Lal Bahadur Shastri.

An elated Saurav said, “It is my good fortune that I got an opportunity to speak at the parliament. This moment is unforgettable in my life. I never expected that I will get this opportunity. I also got the chance of viewing the new parliament.

“My parents and teachers have encouraged me in my achievement. For the first time I boarded a flight from Mangaluru. I will try to achieve further in coming days.”

Saurav is the son of Sudhir Karkera and Pushpavati couple, residents of Daddalkad in the city. He is studying first BCom in Canara College.

    Student must have felt proud to be in Parliament.Hope this inspires him further to go ahead and to be a good student and achieve social attachments to bring India laurels.Hats off .It is not everybody can enter Parliament to give speech.
