Kasargod, Nov 6: Opposing the fuel price hike the trade unions called for vehicular ban here, which brought normal life to a stand still on Saturday November 5.

From 6 am to 6 pm the vehicular movements were completely restricted and the roads wore a idle look. The shops too were shut down and the Government offices had very little attendance.

In prominent areas of the district like Manjeshwar, Uppala, Kumble, Badhiyadka Perla, Mulleria and Bovikkana among other places the vehicles were off the road.  All business establishments, educational institutions both government and private were closed.

The protestors held a ‘rasta roko’ near the new bus station and demanded to bring down the price of petrol which was nearly hiked by Rs 2 by the Government.
