Police sources said that the victim is Sandeep Shetty (27), allegedly an aide of the notorious Bannanje Raja. Sandeep is accused in murder and robbery cases in Puttur and other places, apart from being known to collect 'hafta'.

Initials reports stated that Sandeep was brutally attacked. Gang rivalry was said to be the motive behind the attack.

It is said that six people attacked Sandeep, when he was speaking on his phone near his mother-in-law's house located near the railway crossing.Police have already identified three of the six persons, it is learnt.

Ullal police rushed to the spot. The victim was taken to a private hospital in the city but he passed away later.

This is the third case of stabbing in the city in the past three days. On Friday November 11, Murugesh and his relative Upendra were stabbed to death, and on Sunday November 13, auto rickshaw driver Ravindra was attacked.

Speaking to Daijiworld, police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh dismissed any connection between the cases, and said that Sandeep's case was related to rowdyism but had nothing to do with the other two cases.

Dear Mangaloreans, do not worry about these killings. Those who carried guns will die with guns. Mangalore is becoming Naples of Italy or Rio of Brazil. These are few death here and there. But friends, worry about traffic deaths of innocent people due to arrogant driving pattern of Rowdy Bus Drivers and Truck Drivers. Just look at dozens of deaths due to lorries and buses. We are all in line of these deaths unless we join together to stop this fear. Now the biggest fear is tippers carrying rocky soil without gate or tarp to cover. A loose rock can fall off truck and kill a biker on spot.

Those who take the sword get killed by the sword. Those who spill blood, even their blood will be spilled. The moral of the story is "You reap what you sow". All the religions of the world teach the same lesson.

Those who live by the sword shall fall (die) by the sword, which has been quoted by Jesus as well, but feel sad to see innocent people lose their lives for the selfish motives of criminals.

Dear Nagesh Kamath, Mukka/Christ Church. I can imagine your sensitive feelings. But my dear friend, do not be ashamed of being a Mangalorean. Majority of the Mangaloreans love peace and wish to live in peace. It is very unfortunate that these incidents tarnish our image but I am sure, we shall overcome and isolate the trouble makers and be proud of our Mangaluru once again.

Capable police force and strict law and order situation without political pressure can solve these incidence. Karnatka every politician involved with Corruption and behind bars of many so what people can expect other than these killings, church attacks and attacks on poor people. Even police personal are not ready to do anything because politicians are presurring good policemen. If they don't obey then transfer orders. Very sad to see people die like this incidence. Good that this man was a gangster what if innocent die this way who takes care of them. Only god can take care of such incidence and nobody is capable of helping.

Why so much crime in Mangalore? Any reasons? What measures are taken to prevent such crime? Law and order and seriousness of officials to punish such breaker of law? looks all political motivated and officials are under presure from these politicians. Police convince 5 potiticians common man sufferes and public goes under issues like these murders. Do your job policemen and stop these crime. If politicians are involved with such act put them behind bars
