MegaFon Offers BlackBerry Services in Russia

Moscow, Dec 23 (IANS/RIA Novosti) MegaFon, one of the "big three" mobile phone operators in Russia, has started offering BlackBerry services to customers in the country.

BlackBerry smartphones will initially be available only to Moscow buyers, but in 2012 MegaFon will begin selling the gadget in its regional locations.

Two other Russian leading mobile operators -- MTS and Beeline -- are already selling BlackBerry services.

BlackBerry is a popular wireless solution enabling its users to easily access e-mail, phone, text messaging, internet, organiser and corporate data applications from a single, integrated device, according to its Canadian producer Research In Motion (RIM).

It is now available on wireless networks around the world with over 2.5 million subscribers using such services today.
