Mangaluru: Catechism Day celebration held at St Sebastian Church, Permannur

Mangaluru, Feb 24: The annual Catechism Day was meaningfully celebrated on Sunday, February 23, with a Eucharistic celebration at 9 a.m., officiated by parish priest Fr Cyprian Pinto. The children actively participated by leading the church choir and liturgy.

The second part of the programme was held at St Sebastian College Hall. The event commenced with a prayer song. Fr Cyprian Pinto presided over the programme along with assistant parish priest Fr Johnson Pereira, vice president of the parish council Arun D'Souza, secretary Jyothi D'Souza, superior of Bethel Convent Sr Joseph Mary, superior of Nirmala Convent Sr Alphonsa, superior of Aloysian Girls Hostel Sr Ezilda SRA, Catechism Ayog coordinator Demcy Cynthia D'Souza, and catechism coordinator Jacintha Veigas.



A warm and cheerful welcome was extended to all the dignitaries by Sunitha D'Souza. Prizes were distributed to students for their outstanding attendance throughout the year.

Catechism teachers were appreciated for their service and presented with gifts as a token of gratitude. Students from different classes performed value-based programmes for the audience. Babitha D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the distribution of snacks and ice cream.
