Bengaluru, Mar 6: Emphasizing the growing threat of cyberattacks, a senior official from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has called for unconventional and innovative approaches to safeguard the nation’s digital infrastructure.
Speaking at a cybersecurity conference on Wednesday, the official highlighted that traditional security measures alone may not be sufficient in the face of evolving cyber threats. “India must adopt out-of-the-box ideas and advanced technologies to counter sophisticated cyberattacks targeting critical databases,” the official stated.

With the increasing digitization of services, experts stress the need for proactive strategies, including AI-driven threat detection, blockchain-based security mechanisms, and enhanced public-private collaboration in cybersecurity.
The UIDAI, which manages Aadhaar—India’s largest digital identity system—has been continuously upgrading its security framework to prevent data breaches and unauthorized access. Authorities have also urged organizations handling sensitive data to strengthen their cybersecurity protocols.
Cybersecurity remains a top priority for the government, with efforts underway to develop indigenous solutions to tackle emerging digital threats effectively.
