Bengaluru, Mar 6: Bengaluru South MP and BJP National Yuva Morcha President Tejasvi Surya tied the knot with renowned Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam artiste Sivasri Skandaprasad in an intimate ceremony at a private resort on Kanakapura Road, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, on Thursday.
Sivasri, hailing from Tamil Nadu, is a highly accomplished artiste with a background in bio-engineering from SASTRA University. She holds a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras and has represented India globally through her cultural performances. She is also the daughter of Mridangam maestro Seerkazhi J. Skandaprasad.

The wedding was an intimate affair, attended by close family members, friends, and dignitaries from various fields. Notable attendees included union minister V Somanna, BJP Tamil Nadu President K Annamalai, former BJP MP Pratap Simha, BJP Karnataka president B Y Vijayendra, and BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya.
Pre-wedding rituals were conducted on Wednesday evening, leading up to the "mangalyadharana" ceremony held on Thursday between 9:15 am and 10:15 am in the ‘Tula Lagna’. Following the wedding, a formal ceremony to welcome the bride will take place at Tejasvi Surya’s residence.
A wedding reception has been scheduled for March 9 at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The event is expected to witness the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D K Shivakumar, and other dignitaries from national politics.
Sharing glimpses from the wedding, Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra extended his wishes, stating, "Tejasvi Surya, a dedicated party worker and a dynamic young leader, is beginning a new chapter in his life. We wish him and Sivasri a blissful and joyous married life."
Sivasri gained national attention when Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged her rendition of Lord Ram’s hymn in Kannada. Sharing her performance on X, Modi wrote, "This rendition by Sivasri Skandaprasad beautifully highlights the spirit of devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram. Such efforts go a long way in preserving our rich cultural heritage."
The wedding marks the union of two prominent personalities—one from the world of politics and the other from the realm of classical arts.
