Hyderabad, Jul 14: Jr NTR paid his heartfelt respects to legendary Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who passed away on July 13 following a prolonged illness. However, an incident at the veteran actor's funeral drew attention after Jr NTR expressed displeasure over fans chanting his name during a solemn moment.

In a video that has now gone viral, Jr NTR is seen addressing the media after paying his last respects. As some fans began chanting his name, the actor briefly walked away, visibly upset. He later returned and firmly told one of the fans, "No, say Jai Kota Srinivasa Rao."

The dignified gesture has been widely appreciated on social media, with many praising Jr NTR’s sense of respect. One user commented, “What a gesture of respect,” while another wrote, “NTR – great words about Kota garu.”

Director SS Rajamouli too reportedly lost his cool at the funeral when a fan attempted to take a selfie with him, further underscoring the lack of decorum by a few individuals at the solemn event.

The Telugu film industry mourns the loss of Kota Srinivasa Rao, who was known for his powerful and diverse roles across genres. Celebrities including Megastar Chiranjeevi and Vishnu Manchu took to social media to share their condolences and memories of the veteran actor.

Chiranjeevi, reminiscing about their journey together from their debut film Praanam Khareedu, called Kota garu’s passing an “irreplaceable loss to cinema lovers.” Vishnu Manchu also paid tribute by posting a heartfelt message with a photo of the late actor.
