Mumbai, Jul 27: Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who has been happily married to Mana Shetty since 1991, recently shared his insights on the challenges facing modern marriages, stressing how impatience and external pressures are affecting relationships today.
In a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Shetty reflected on the shifting dynamics of family life. “Aaj kal bachon mein patience hai hi nahi,” he said, adding that marriage eventually becomes a journey of understanding and compromise. “Shaadi kuch time ke baad ek samjhauta hota hai, where you have to understand each other, live for each other.”

The actor also spoke about the evolving role of partners post-parenthood. “Phir ek bacha aata hai, aur patni ko yeh jaan na zaruri hai ki husband career banayega toh bache ko main dekh rahi hoon. Of course, the husband will help too, but today, there's too much pressure in everything.”
Commenting on the digital age, Suniel said the internet is full of unsolicited advice. “Everyone wants to tell you how to be a parent, what to eat, and what to do. But I believe in learning from experience—from your grandmother, mother, and in-laws. Take what works and leave the rest,” he said, lamenting how some couples are “getting divorced even before the wedding takes place.”
Suniel Shetty and Mana’s love story wasn’t easy either. Belonging to different communities, their marriage initially faced opposition from his parents. But with conviction and perfect timing—around the release of his debut film Balwaan—he tied the knot with Mana despite warnings that early marriage could affect his image.
The couple has two children—Athiya Shetty and Ahan Shetty—both now part of the entertainment industry.
On the professional front, Suniel Shetty was last seen in Kesari Veer alongside Vivek Oberoi and Sooraj Pancholi.
