Dubai: Gammat Kalavider UAE to stage Tulu play ‘Ponaga Konopara?’ on Oct 11

Dubai, Oct 8: The popular drama troupe Gammat Kalavider UAE, known for entertaining theatre enthusiasts in the UAE for several years, is set to return with yet another performance to delight Tulu drama lovers.

The troupe will stage the Tulu play ‘Ponaga Konopara?’ on Friday, October 11, at 5 pm at the Emirates Theatre, Umm Al Sheif, Dubai.

Speaking to the media, director Vishwanath Shetty said that the play ‘Ponaga Konopara?’, written by renowned playwright and theatre director Jagadish Shetty Kenchanakere, has been crafted in a unique style that promises to captivate the UAE audience. He urged all Tuluvas residing in the UAE to attend and support the event.

The programme will also be graced by several distinguished guests, including noted astrologer and president of the Sion Kannada Sangha, Mumbai, Dr M J Praveen Bhat; acclaimed diving expert and social worker Eshwar Malpe; and Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld media.

Vishwanath Shetty expressed confidence that the upcoming play will once again rekindle the rich tradition of Tulu theatre in the UAE.
