Bengaluru rider clears 100 traffic violations on one bike, pays Rs 27,500 after 50% fine amnesty

Bengaluru, June 22: A city rider has cleared 100 traffic violation cases registered against a single two-wheeler by paying a reduced fine of Rs 27,500 after availing a 50% rebate announced by the state government on pending traffic penalties.

The payment was made at Rajajinagar Traffic police station here under the ongoing concession scheme, which has seen a strong response from motorists across the city.

The state government has rolled out a 50% discount on pending traffic fines from June 21 to July 10, with traffic police urging vehicle owners to take advantage of the limited-period amnesty to clear outstanding dues.

Officials said the scheme has triggered a notable rise in settlements, with several long-pending cases being cleared since its launch.

After clearing the dues, the rider reportedly acknowledged the repeated violations and said he would strictly adhere to traffic rules in future and prioritise safe driving.

Traffic police have also appealed to motorists to utilise the rebate window responsibly, stressing that compliance with road safety regulations is essential to prevent accidents and ensure smoother traffic flow.

Authorities added that such initiatives help improve discipline on the roads and encourage timely settlement of pending penalties.
