New Delhi, May 29 (IANS): Three more people have been arrested in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot fixing scandal, police said Wednesday.
"Nitin, Monu and Vicky were arrested Tuesday night by the Special Cell of Delhi Police," a police official told IANS.
Bhupendra Singh Nagar, who was arrested Monday, had revealed the role played by the trio in the scandal.
"Nagar was approached by Vicky, a bouncer in a nightclub of a prominent hotel in Delhi, who requested him to arrange a meeting with Chandila as he wanted to meet some cricketers," the official said.
During the investigation, Nagar told police that Vicky and his two bookie friends - Nitin and Monu - met with him outside the Billionaire Hotel in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area in the first week of May. Nagar took them to Jaipur where they met Chandila in the second week of May.
Delhi Police have arrested 25 people in connection with the IPL scandal. Of these, 17 have been sent to judicial custody, including Rajasthan Royals' players S. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.
