Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar celebrates environment day

Doha, Jun 16: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a premier organization of Kannadiga expatriates from the south Indian state of Karnataka has been involved in several socio-cultural and philanthropic activities. Once again in line with Karnataka Sangha Qatar’s commitment to environmental protection, "World Environment Day Celebration by Planting Saplings" was organized by the sangha at Galfar Asphalt Plant Mesaieed.  

Eventhough the morning was hot and windy, 150 members and supporters participated with their families.


Deepak Shetty, the president of KSQ, while expressing his gratitude for those who attended the noble service, highlighted Karnataka Sangha's efforts in creating environmental awareness among the community and children. 
 
Hemachandran, the senior general manager, Galfar Al Misnad was the chief guest. Appreciating the initiatives of Karnataka Sangha, he said that it was the right step in the right direction.

N Ravindran, the senior project manager, Galfar, Mahesh Gowda, the general secretary and Sandesh Anand, the charity and special events coordinator were on the dais.

Subramanya Hebbagilu, the membership coordinator compered and he was also instrumental in arranging the event.

Jt Logistics coordiantor Murulidhar Rao briefly spoke about the importance of protecting the environment.

Jawahar proposed the vote of thanks.
 
V S Mannagi, the ex-president of KSQ and the chairman of the advisory board, Arvind Patil, the general secretary of ICBF, Ramachandra Shetty, the head of Minor Assistance-ICBF, Ravi Shetty, the president of Tulukoota, Prakashchandra Ajila, the president of Bunts Qatar, Divakar Poojary, the president of Qatar Billavas, former presidents of KSQ Prabhakar and Arun Kumar, P S Pai, Mohammad Saleem, the committee members and the members of KSQ, Tulukoota, BuntS Qatar, Qatar Billavas, KMCA and other Karnataka based organizations were present.

    KSQ is in the forefront of promoting environment protection awareness among the community members, especially children by organising events like beach cleaning campaign, planting saplings, drawing and elocution competitions. We believe in "walk the talk" and hope our efforts will bring some changes.

    Congratulations KSQ for your several socio-cultural and philanthropic activities.
    Countless trees are falling due to new buildings, infrastructure and development
    Vehicles are multiplying on roads to add health hazardous pollutions and costs
    Fuel costs are burning the family budgets, government treasury and the economy
    Priority is to feed (fuel) the vehicles by keeping millions of people hungry and thirsty
    Drastic saving of fuel can solve the severe problems like unemployment and poverty
    Carrying and moving the huge burden on wheels is primitive old economy concept
    Pull, get pushed and move can be concept to face fast and dynamic new economy
    Huge dead weight of commuters and goods on wheels can be powerful pushing force
    While mobile is at its peak, why the automobiles to suffer the severe problems?
    The option is to have a peaceful society, stable economy and clean environment
    If KSQ has the intention to lead, we can make a world of difference, with solutions
