Kohli-led Team India arrives in Kolkata in batches


Kolkata, June 5 (IANS): The Virat Kohli-led Indian team on Friday arrived in batches at the city ahead of their two day training camp at the Eden Gardens.

The team will set out for Bangladesh on Monday morning after their fitness test here which is scheduled for Saturday evening.

"The fitness test is likely to take place at around 3.30 p.m. on Saturday," said a Cricket Association of Bengal source.

First to land in the city was skipper Kohli followed by team director Ravi Shastri. Middle order bat Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Karn Sharma and Lokesh Rahul were the next players to arrive at the airport. Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav and veteran offie Harbhajan Singh are yet to fly in.

After Sunday's practice session, Kohli is slated to address the media in the evening.

Saturday will also witness for the first time the trio of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman attend the meeting of the advisory committee in which they were recently inducted.

The venue for the meeting is still unknown.

The Indians are slated to play a Test match followed by three One-Day Internationals during the trip that ends with an ODI on June 24.
